He is a 8th Degree Black Belt in SA-GI-DO, a
World Wide Alliance of Martial Artists Board
Member, and a member of the Educational
Funding Company.

Bobbie Kates
Master Bobbie Kates is Co-Owner &
Operator of Emerald Dragon Karate. She is
Currently a Master Instructor in training.
She is a member of the Worldwide Alliance of
Martial Artists Board of Advisors.

This
8th Degree Black Belt, studied under his father Grandmaster Alan
K. Kates, 10th Degree Black Belt, since 1974. He achieved his
Master Rank (4th Degree) in April of 1988. Grandmaster
Brian Kates began Emerald Dragon Karate in April of 1992.
He was promoted to the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in November
of 1993. Grandmaster Brian Kates was inducted into the Eastern
Alliance Hall of Fame in November 1997. He was promoted to
the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt in August of 1998 & was
Awarded The International Eastern Alliance Instructor of the
Year Award the same month. He was promoted to the rank of
7th Degree Black Belt in January of 2003 at the World Wide
Alliance of Martial Artists Hall of Fame Banquet, where he
performed in front of approximately 200 Black Belts, Masters &
Grandmasters. Most recently, He was promoted to the rank
of 8th
Throughout his career, Grandmaster Kates has won hundreds of
trophies at tournaments, and placed as Tournament Grand Champion
several times. As of January of 2011, he has promoted 90 EDK Black Belts, and he presently oversees the growth and
progression of more than 200 students. |
Master Bobbie Kates helped establish
Emerald Dragon Karate in 1992. She
has 22 years experience in the martial
arts, and has been a Black Belt for 19
years. She laid the foundation and
established the Little Dragon's Program
for young children ages 3 to 6.
For 9 years, this martial artist
has been a member of the Worldwide
Alliance of Martial Artists Board of
Advisors. She has supported the
organization through establishing new
documentation, helping to organize
directives, and confering with officers
on important subject matter.
Presently,
Master Kates is Instructor of the
Dragon's G/P/Y/W Belt class & the
Instructor Overseer.
She can be found evaluating Instructors
and classes, meeting with parents and
students, and tending to business
matters. This mother of 2 boys is
very proud of the growth and change that EDK brings about in all students,
children and adults.
