White , Yellow, Purple, & Green (3-7) years of age.
This class is designed for our youngest martial artists. Little Dragons offers a slower pace of learning, with more game playing and basic skills. Through their training, they all will develop the valuable skills of respect, patience, and courtesy
to others. The children learn the rules of the dojang, and are
taught to carry the basic values of the martial arts with them outside,
as well. Little Dragons progress, in this class, to the level of
Purple or Green Belt, at which time they advance into the Tiger's
program.
Tiger's White - Green Belts (8-12) years of age.
This class develops children through creative drills, challenges, and
games. Like the Dragon's class, the beginner Tiger's curriculum is
based on teaching children the most important traditional values of the
arts, as well as the basic skills from which all martial artists
progress. Teaching each child discipline, respect, patience, and goal setting
is of the highest priority. Our goal is to teach children to look more to bettering themselves, than in just learning
the exciting techniques and patterns. We teach each child to seek challenges, and set
quality Black Belt goals.
By learning the fundamental values and basic elements of the Arts, as
well as the progress and motivation received in class, there is a high level
of accomplishment and a new found confidence in themselves that they will
carry with them outside EDK.
Brown & Red-3 Belts (7-10) years of age.
Tweens, Brown, Red, Red Belt 2nd Class through Child Black Belt. (ages
10-13)
This is the Tween Advanced class, where students are taught by
Grandmaster Kates directly, helping to hone their skills, review, and prepare mentally, spiritually, and physically for the rank of Black Belt.
By this time, most of these students have become involved in DELTA Squad (the helper team), SWAT Team (demo team), or have developed their competition skills in tournaments. This is the final stage of their underrank career in the martial arts, and it is taken very seriously by all who enter this class. The road to success is a challenging one, but this group of martial artists are preparing to achieve the ultimate goal, Black Belt.
White-Black Belts (13-16) years of age.
This is a class of teens aged 13 to 16 years, and contains all ranks, White Belt through
Black. These students train on a more serious, more disciplined level than the Tigers, yet still incorporate games and teamwork throughout their training. The Junior's Class is a group of martial artists who seek Black Belt, and who strive to develop and possess Black Belt qualities right from the beginning.
Adult's Classes (17 Years old & Up) ALL RANKS
Our Adult Class offers a full program of more intense training. The class is geared toward the mature qualities of the Adult. They learn at a faster pace, and they strive for Black Belt Excellence. They gain valuable knowledge and experience, enhance fitness and endurance, and challenge themselves to reach new and exciting goals each day through the Art of Sa-Gi-Do.
EDK Weapon Warrior Class is an exciting,
action packed extension to the already awesome martial arts classes of
which you may already be a part. Although martial arts experience is
not a prerequisite, it will definitely be a benefit to your training.
The class will encompass an all new weapon to EDK students, the sword,
as well as other familiar weapons, taught in a different aspect. What
aspect? Actual combat; an offense and defense with a more realistic,
authentic feel for how the weapon can truly be used for its intended
purpose.
This weapons program will teach the sport of weapon fighting,
beginning with the short sword. Students will learn how to use a series
of weapons traditionally, and then test their skills through controlled
classroom sparring. The revolutionary foam equipment allows students to
strike and hit each other at full speed without the risk of injury or
discomfort. The weapons featured in this program: Short Sword, Long
Sword, Bo Staff, Double Swords, and Nunchaku. Other weapons may be
added at a later time.
Also new to EDK will be the Japanese based
system we will incorporate. New history of Arts such as Bushido, Kendo,
and information about Samurai will be an exciting area of study. A new
ranking system of sashes instead of belts, t-shirts instead of full
uniforms, and a different color system of leveling will be a part of
this course. I promise you an intensive program with skills and drills
to interest all who show a love for the weapons of the Arts. Excitement
awaits you as an EDK Weapon Warrior.
